3D Class Week 10 Creating A Medium Complexity Character Part 01 GameRes Model and UV's

This week we worked on created the medium complexity model of the starfish in Maya. First we created a low-poly mesh for the starfish. Next we created low-poly meshes for our props. I created a helmet that would act as a fish bowl and a funnel to replenish clean water. My idea being that the starfish might not be able to survive outside of water for long.

I used the bonus tools for Maya to unwrap the uvs.

This week we took a pre-existing concept of  sea creature and went through the steps from low poly model to in-game asset.
As there was no frontal image to my fish. I took Inspiration from the predator particularly his skin texture and protruding brow.

Imports to UE4 the one on the right is a decimated mesh from Zbrush.

The image below shows my High-res sculpt with polypainting in ZBrush.
